Mt. Cuba Center FIELD TRIP sponsored by the WVT Environmental Advisory Council (EAC).

Saturday, June 1st

Private Garden Tour 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Mt. Cuba Center

3120 Barley Mill Road

Hockessin, DE 19707

Join neighbors & nature lovers for a private tour of one of our area’s most acclaimed public gardens – Mt. Cuba Center. Founded by Lammot du Pont Copeland – the nephew & heir of Pierre du Pont of Longwood fame, Mt. Cuba Center opened to the public in 2013 & is widely recognized as a national leader in eco-gardening. If Longwood is a botanical zoo featuring flora from around the world, Mt. Cuba Center showcases plants native to our region. We know native vegetation is vital to ecosystems. If you’ve ever questioned whether native plants can also be gorgeous additions to home landscapes, you must see Mt. Cuba Center.

Pre-registration is required. $21/person.

RSVP by May 14th to EAC@westvincenttwp.org

Meet at the West Vincent Township building at 9 AM to carpool. Or meet at the main ticketing entrance at 10:15 AM.

At 10:30 AM, we will be treated to a 2 hour private tour of the formal gardens, naturalized gardens, woodlands, and trial gardens. Pack a picnic lunch or order lunch ahead through the Mt. Cuba website. There are lovely spaces to sit & eat throughout the estate.
