West Vincent Township is serviced by Kimberton Fire Company, Ludwig’s Corner Fire Company, Ridge Fire Company, Uwchlan Ambulance Corps, and West End Fire Co. EMS.

Homeowners are permitted to burn rubbish, leaves, brush, grass, wood, and other waste materials outdoors provided certain conditions are followed: minimum setbacks from buildings, roads and property lines must be observed; a fire extinguisher must be handy; the County Fire Board must be notified in advance at 610-933-8966;“Clearing and grubbing wastes” (brush, tree stumps, etc.) may be burnt outdoors by builders and contractors, if such burning is conducted according to state permit guidelines.

 

NO burning is permitted at night; no burning of tires, hazardous materials, plastics or other materials which create noxious or poisonous fumes or gases may not be burned outdoors. Outdoor burning of commercial waste is prohibited, which includes construction or demolition materials or wastes.

 

The fire companies have the right to extinguish any fires reported to their companies.

Please refer to the Fire Ordinance 57-1990 for complete descriptions and guidelines on outdoor burning, fire hydrants, property identification, smoke detectors, burglar and fire alarms, sprinkler systems (commercial), propane and gas tanks, and hazardous materials cleanup and removal.

Residents are required to display their numbers on mailboxes, doorways or driveway entrances, using reflective numbers at least 3″ high. Order house numbers by completing the Ludwig’s Corner Fire Department Reflective Address Sign Order Form and returning to their fire house.
