Opalanie Park Mural Project

The West Vincent Township Parks & Recreation Commission is excited to partner with faculty and students from the Owen J. Roberts High School Studio Arts class, seeking their assistance in creating a colorful hand-painted mural, which will adorn a portion of the blank facade along the public works building at Opalanie Park.

The Committee has requested for the Arts class to visually showcase the natural elements of the park in mural form – its stunning flora and fauna of its lands and waterways – while creatively referencing the rich Lenni-Lenape history running deep there.

Residents are invited to attend the next Parks & Recreation meeting, being held at 7PM on Wednesday, March 4 in the township building (729 Saint Matthews Rd.), to view each of the students’ mural designs and vote for your favorite one!

The time and efforts by the Arts class students are being provided to the Township without charge. Rather, they will receive scholastic credits toward their year’s school arts project.

This committee thanks Owen J. Roberts students and teachers alike for their heartfelt commitment toward Opalanie Park. We can’t wait to see their creative submissions on 3/4!
